UCT is a member of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) comprising 24 members across the globe. The WUN’s main aim is to build research collaboration across its members. Towards this end, the Research Development Fund was created 16 years ago and its 2024 call for proposals is now open. The grants are up to £10,000 per project for one year. This seed-funding is intended to help stimulate larger collaborative projects that will strengthen WUN and make the collaborating partners competitive for major awards.
The internal closing date is Monday, 2 September 2024. Proposals will then be reviewed by a UCT panel and up to two will be selected for submission to the WUN by the closing date of Friday, 18 October 2024.
