Target group: Early and mid career researchers (1-6 years post-PhD); and clinicians with a Masters degree or a specialist clinical qualification and between 3-7 years active research experience
The African Research Excellence Fund (AREF) Research development fellowship aims to support researchers in Africa who are emerging leaders and are working on important challenges for human health to develop their skills as a researcher. It involves a three to nine-month placement at a leading research institution in Europe or Africa, with additional support at the Fellows home institution before and after the placement, up to a maximum of £40,000.
