Prof. Abdulaziz Hassan (Clinician)

Prof. Hassan graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria Nigeria with an M.B,B.S degree in 2000. He undertook his residency training in Haematology at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) and became a fellow (FMCPath) of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) in 2008. He also obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2016. Since 2009 he has been working as a Consultant Haematologist at the ABU Teaching Hospital and Lecturer at the ABU and is involved in the management and care of sickle cell disease and other patients with haematological disorders. He was appointed Professor in 2017 and has attended conferences, seminars and workshops within and outside Nigeria. He serves as the North-West coordinator of the Sickle Cell Support Society of Nigeria and the Secretary of the Nigerian Society for Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NSHBT) 2017. He is a fellow of the Austrian-American Foundation (AAF) member of the African Society for Blood Transfusion (AfSBT) and International Society for Blood Transfusion (ISBT). He has been Site Coordinator for the SPARCO Data research at the ABU Zaria.
